Some point which I liked and loved to learn from an interview

I listen the interview of Mr. Ram Pradhan on IBN LOKMAT , whose team has prepared the report on 26/11 attack on Mumbai

Some point which I liked and loved to learn are as follows

Slum area is a critical problem for Mumbai and major population live there are we don’t know and difficult to know the illegal activities which are happening there.

Attack cannot be possible without local support

CCTV installed but no one is monitoring those , then what is the use of CCTY?

Learning is that while inserting a system we need to put it fully and not 90% , if it is not a full system then o/p is 0

Control room which is a heart of police should be proper

Learning : you have to care your most imp / base part

We got a lot of information but are we are not acting on that info then it is a waste

Our eyes,ears, mind should be alert enough to understand the situation around us.

We can not become operation in teams by sending mails , papers to each other but we need to discuss and act on them

We need to change the system and not the people.

Someone need to monitor action plan then only we can get the results.

He speaks on NSG : He said NSG is ok but they are only for acting after attack , you need to work on the things before attack so that attack should not happen

Sit outside of the system to know the problems and do not just act but think more

Perception is needed --- who will attack in future ? How will he attack ?

He had done the report by actually observing the situation(e.g he went to police control rooms , went to hotels CCTV monitoring room , met a lot of people)

While building report ram pradhan coordinated with one more senior police officer to whome US team consulted for 9/11 discussion

Protection of life and property is the main task of home dept.

He thought on ,how to improve police force

Basic work of police – protection of life and property so Why other duties to police?

System failure should not happen

Action need to be taken on analysis done.

Work in a way that people should say that yes , they worked

Political questions should get solved politically.

No one can give guarantee about security but what can we do need to check .

Ground level intelligence was strength in Mumbai and which was power of Mumbai police and which is missing now a days

My Views ON my Social Work

I used to go in RSS and while speaking about RSS , we always say that , RSS does lot of great things , social activities and so on . If someone ask me the question that “you are a swayansevak of RSS ” and now tell me what have you done ?

The answer will be - “I have not done a single such activity that helped to the society”’

Now if want to do something, then what should I do to society ? Then people will start saying big task that normally gets highlighted into the media like go to slum area and do some clean up there, teach some good lession to their children , goto some hill and do some plantation etc.

These all are big activities and very difficult to achieve for me , Once we done plantation on one hill (with my mithi software company ) , after plantation I and may 90% people never went there again , then what is the use of that plantation? , Do the things which are not practical or natural will not survive.

Then one day I realize that near my apartment , there was one speed breaker on the road and in rainy season all the rain water got collected there because there was a speed breaker and there was no place for a water to move from there. Everyone was suffering by that situation but no one has taken initiative to give so space for a water to move.

I wanted to do it but I failed to do it. So if I failed to do such a small thing then how can I thing about doing the big things as a social work.

Then I realize that mo home is not clean , my society is not clean , the area where my society exist is not clean and we are thinking about the something outside of it .

So now I have decided clean your home first, then society and the area and after that only thing outside of it.

What is the importance of rule?

“Why” types of questions gives us importance of specific thing. Lets take a question, “Why rules came? , what is the purpose of rule?” 

This Sunday I went to one organization where for entrance we have to show the membership card, I noticed that I forgot to bring that card with me.(Also I registered to that organization yesterday only)

      

 I went there and told that I forgot to bring the card and still can you please give me access as I registered here yesterday only so that can you please allow me this time?

      

 There was one lady , she told me that , yes I know you have registered here yesterday and at that time I told you also that card is required to entrance , therefore we cannot give you entry.

I agree with her “strictness”, also accepted her decision and left from there.

Then I started studying some things ---

       

1] I get upset by there decision , so for me , I was not happy with there service.

Now I thought that if I was running such a organization and if my customer gets upset by such a rule then is there anything that I can do for him?

Then I started looking toward that rule .

This rule is made for the unauthorized access. So that card was the identity for me to access there facilities. Right , so this rule is valid.

But the person who was applying the rule for me told me that “Yes I know that you have registered here yesterday.”

This statement suggest that personally he knows me because I recently joined, so here the importance for card does not matter (it matter when you don’t know that person)

So my thinking is that she should have allowed me to access by giving the warning about next time.(for maintaining good relationships with our people)

I don’t have complaint about the incidence but I thought that we can take some better approach without breaking the purpose

So my conclusion is that –

Do not follow the rule hard and fast but first analyze the objective of rule and then take the decision accordingly.  

Giving Ownership and Responsibility to Your Team

                Yesterday I observed one thing, if you keep “Ownership and responsibility” with you and delegates only the task then tasks failed to finish in best way . If you change the approach , give the ownership and responsibility to team (They should feel that , this is my responsibility and ownership and I will do it in best way) then they do the work  with more carefully and with quality way.

                One thing is we need to do is that, we need to check their work, give them suggestions after finishing the work, suggest better approaches etc.

We need to give time to our juniors to learn , they will make the mistakes , accept that mistakes , suggest possible solution to avoid the mistakes

Importance Of Communication for Problem Solving.

                Many times lack of communication causes relationship problems in friends , family and everywhere. Many times we assumes something, we are 100% confident on our assumptions and that assumption becomes a cause of all problems because assumption was not correct.

Better approach is that if you have problems with  any person then do not assume anything , lets communicate with that person, clear your thoughts and then only come to a conclusion

Good communication can avoid a confusions.

Failure tackle plan should available for each and every failure point.

I watch the tv serial based on BAJIRAO PESHAVA , and  I observe one thing that , in war , “he has plan to tackle each and every failure point” , (Bajirao peshawa has record of winning all the battle which he fought.)

Then I saw that  we also find the failure point but we are not prepare against them. 

We assume that everything will happen as per plans and keep failure points taken care by LUCK , and these failure points kill us.

So better approach is , find all failure points and we should have complete plan to fight against every possible failure point

Job Security , Learning and Self Improvement

Every One want to secure the job, to remain in safe organization Why ? What happen when we secure the job? What happens when we are in insecure place?

I see more benefits  for self improvement when your job is not secure.When you are not in safe place then you are always on alert , you  are continuously preparing for yourself so that you can tackle any situation.

If you see our normal life also then also you notice that when we fill insecure we are on HIGH ALERT.

What happen when we are in safe zone ?

            We become careless – very dangerous, if someone  attacks on you then you will not able to respond because you are not prepared for it.

Also there are chances that enemy attacks on the places where people are not alert .

You become lazy due to comfort zone, you stops improving yourself
